In one of my previous organizations, the main sources of power had been the manpower/human resources, the sponsors, the stakeholders, the shareholders/Board of Directors and the CEO. This is because all these sources had to be satisfied to ensure that business operations would be run smoothly. However, there had been differences in the levels of powers for each of these sources. There had been empowered lower-level and mid-level employees but final approval of operational and managerial decisions used to be made by the higher-level managers.
